Perhaps it was a mistake to start this, after all. It's been several days, and I have NO time to post.
Oh well. I've tried.

OK, I give up. I am starting a blog.
I have long resisted the idea of having a blog. All throughout my writing career, since the time blogs first showed up, I've been hearing that an author absolutely should have one, and my invariable response has been, "Nope. Not me."
I have nothing against blogs, I actually enjoy reading quite a few, especially those book- and writing-related. My reluctance to start one was caused by something else. Two things, really. Perfectionism and Lack of Time. See, if I have a blog, I have to maintain it, updating it with quality posts. Quality posts take time to write - time I usually can't afford. I admire bloggers with almost daily meaningful, informative, well-written posts; they must be blessed with the wonderful ability to produce them quickly and easily. I do not have such a blessing.
So rather than have a mediocre blog, I opted for having none at all. Practical, isn't it? I even have a catch phrase for such situations: "Better not do it at all than do it poorly." Yes, it's not easy being a perfectionist.
However, things have been changing, especially since I joined the Indie Revolution and released my books electronically, for Kindle, Nook, and other e-readers. I have learned a ton, made a lot of indie friends, read some excellent indie books, and my own books have started reaching more readers. In 2010, I made it to the finals of one literary award and won 1st place of another. All that would have made interesting blog posts; I found myself regretting that I don't have a blog.
So here I am to remedy the situation. I still can't promise to update often, but I will do my best.
